Thomas.B Langhorne worked as a cook on the TSS Nestor

Hi.My name is Pauline Wood and I am tracing my family history. I have just found out my Great Grandfathers brother worked as a cook on the Nestor. My father now 91 remembers visiting the ship when in port as a very young man. Do you have any information on the crew of the TSS Nestor. His name is Thomas.B Langhorne of Liverpool England. We live in hope when it comes to family research don't we.

I do not have any details of TSS Nestor crew, but you should go to our search engine and enter Merchant Navy Personnel Records, the UK National Archives should come up. Here is a list of Research Guides produced at the National Archives, some of which will be helpful in your search.

You did not say what dates that Thomas served in Nestor, I did check at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site, but fortunately no record for Thomas there.

Nestor was a Blue Funnel Line ship, you should check their site as you may find a ship history there.

Do you have a picture of her? if not I could find one for you if you so wish.
