The RAN should establish a Hall of Fame

Hi Mac:

Purely out of interest in your discussion Forum could I table this with the best of intentions. I've advocated for quite a while that the RAN should establish a Hall of Fame..or suchlike..those to be honoured to be determined by a select committee...but with the establishment of the new upgraded Navy Museum on Garden Island do any of you see merit in positioning a series of top-class specially designed bollards on either side of the walkway from the ferry terminal at the end of GI to the actual museum...each bollard to have in weatherproof production, a photograph and rundown on those being honoured in this walkway version of the Navy's Hall of Fame. Well done, it could be a fascinating adjunct towards the entrance to the new museum. See any merit in this???

Cheers to you Mac...

Max,

Good to hear from you.

You should visit the AHOY discussion Forum, click on New Subject, pose your question, and send it off.

Terry will add it to the Forum, and we can see what eventuates.

I am hoping to visit NHSA on Garden Island with Don Boyle, Jean, the Gallery Manager at the Shrine, and Commander John Goss, No 1 at Cerberus, at the end of March to see what artifacts we might unearth to use at the Navy week Exhibition at the Shrine in October this year.

The general theme seems to be unfolding as" Victoria and the Evolution of the RAN."

I will raise your suggestion with the President of the NHS at that time.

I believe, like you, we need to do something about such a project.

More anon,

Regards,
Mac.
