Survivors of the Athenia Hello, I just came across an article where you ask about living survivors of the Athenia. My aunt and uncle are still living. My other, her sister, brother and mother all survived. Please contct me i you would like to contact them. Mary Bupp
My thanks for your email, Yes please, I would love to contact your aunt and uncle to learn their story about the loss of Athenia. In 2011, a new Riverside Transport Museum will be opened on the Clyde at Glasgow, and they will feature an Athenia Gallery there, I am sure that the Gallery Manager would also be delighted to be in touch with your relatives, and with their approval I will pass on their details to the Glasgow Transport Museum. I must say, I am still suprised at the number of survivors with whom I have been in contact since I wrote that piece on AHOY. Best regards, |
