Stephen Clinton was killed Nov. 10, 1944 on the USS Mount Hood

Hello, my name is Jamie Wright.  I was at the grave of my Grand-Uncle today and saw that his brother (Stephen Clinton) was killed Nov. 10, 1944 on the USS Mount Hood.  I knew that he died in WWII but hadn't been back to Massachusetts in a long time and had forgotten the ship's name.  I came home this afternoon and tried to do a little research.  In doing so, I came across your site, which is very informative and contains the best photos that I have found.  First, I would like to thank you for providing me with some great info.  The purpose of my email is to ask if the cemetery that is in the photo still exists?  I am thinking that if it does then someday I would like to make a visit.

Any correspondence would be greatly appreciated.  If you would please respond to my email (this is my brother's account), it is: jamesjgee@yahoo.com

Again, thanks for your help!

Jamie Wright

James,

Thank you for your kind words.

From my research it looks as if the body of Stephen Clinton was moved to the American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila.

I will send his record, and details of that cemetery to you separately.

Regards,
Mac.

James,

From this record it looks as if Stephen Clinton's body was moved from Manus Cemetery to the cemetery in Manila.
