SS Ophelia or SS Huntley picture?

September 07, 2010

I am trying to locate a picture of the passenger ship SS Ophelia that brought my husband's grandfather over from Germany in April 1881,

I learned from Wikipedia that it became a German hospital ship

On  October 17, 1914 the British captured her and renamed her the SS Huntley.

December 21, 1915 she was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat.

I would appreciate it if you can tell me where to find a picture.

I thank you very much.

Arlene

Arlene,

I am sorry but having searched every where I could think of still no photo of Ophelia or Huntley.

See this URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SM_UB-10 for details of the German Submarine UB-10 that sank her,
the record her wrongly spells Huntley as Huntly.

Ophelia (2) 1912 built by Flensburger Schiffsbau Gesellschaft, Flensburg | In HLL service, 1914 in sevice as a hospital ship, 1914 captured by British warship renamed Huntley, 21st December 1915 torpedoed and sunk by
German submarine UB.10.

Best wishes,
Mac.
