Letters

Records of New Zealand servicemen and women.

Dear Sir

Having found your email address in relation to searching for Royal New Zealand Navy - I am hoping for some guidance to find out more about my father (now deceased) and his time in the navy.

Can you steer me in the right direction on perhaps say records of crew etc?

Thank you for your time

Bonnie (Christensen) Plested

Bonnie,

I will send you two separate E-Mails, one about a new facility in NZ with records of NZ Service men and women, the address is at the bottom of the message, and you should pursue that source for details about your Father.

The second is a book reference about the NZ Navy that perhaps you might borrow from your local library should you be interested.

Now, if you can give me the names of any ships ( should you have that detail ) in which your Father served I can research those for you.

At the start of WW2 the NZ Navy was a division of the Royal Navy, but later on in the war the RNZN became a Navy in its own right.

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Best regards,

Mackenzie. Gregory.
