Painting of HMS Voltaire by William Palmer who survived the sinking

November 14, 2009
  Subject: HMS Voltaire

 Hi Mac,

Back in 2005 I wrote to you about my grandfather William Palmer who survived the sinking of HMS Voltaire and
spent the rest of ww2 in a prisoner of war camp in Germ
any.

Incredibly I have found a painting my grandfather did of his ship about 1970. The painting was done from memory
alone and although not perfect, is still pretty good when you compare it against old photographs of the ship.

I would be very grateful if you can add the painting to the Voltaire pages.

Hello John,

Thank you for adding another piece to our Pages about Voltaire.

Terry, my web master will put the painting up on AHOY.

Regards,
Mac.
