John Moresby's plaque in Holy Trinity Church, Fareham

Dear Mackenzie

Two years ago I sent you the following message:

"Attached are two photos of a Cemetry in my original home town Fareham in Hampshire. They came from a friend as they show as they show the grave of Admiral John Moresby who named Port Moresby after his father Admiral of the Fleet Sir Fairfax Moresby."

Well two years later, another friend has sent me a photograph of a memorial plaque and picture dedicated to Admiral John Moresby (referred to above). This memorial is in Holy Trinty Church, Fareham, England.

Admiral John is my wife's triple Great Uncle, and Sir Fairfax is her triple Great Grandfather, which I have mentioned before. And of course as we have discussed the Royal Navy named a ship after Admiral John while he was alive, and the Australian Navy also named a ship after him later

Hope you are keeping well

kind regards
Richard Downer

Dear Richard,

Thank you for the added photo of the plaque at the Holy Trinity Church at Fareham in memory of John.

The two Admiral Moresby's left their mark behind across the world, both in England and further afield.

I am fine thank you, and trust all is well at your end.

I am grateful for you sharing this with me.

Best regards,
Mackenzie.
