John Carlton [known as Jock] was also a stoker on Rawalpindi and was a POW for the duration of the war

Subject: Rawalpindi

Hi Mac

I have just read the letter from John, dated 2/6/09, about his search for information about his father who was a
stoker on Rawalpindi
.

My father, John Carlton [known as Jock] was also a stoker on Rawalpindi and was a POW for the duration of the war, and I am also looking for information about his time there. I had found out about Milag but I have yet to find papers on his time in Germany; I think they may be held at the National Archives in Kew, London. I also understand that the National Archives hold the debriefing papers compiled from each returning POW which should give details about their life in the camp and how they were treated.

I would be very happy to share information that I may find with John if he cares to contact me.

Kind regards, Jane Carlton
