Jim Milling served on the HMAS Yarra and unfortunately went down with the ship

Dear Mac,

I have been researching my family history, my Uncle Jim served on the Yarra and unfortunately went down with the ship like so many others. I am trying to find out if there were ships photos, or if you can suggest a way I may be able to obtain a photo of him.

He transferred from the RN  to RAN in 1928, spent time on the Penguin,  and finally on the Yarra. He was confirmed Leading Seaman in Feb, 1941.

Any help or suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Margaret Norrington

Margaret,

If you can send me your Uncle Jim's full name, I will get his WW2 Certificate of Service up, and send you a copy.

Here is some history about HMAS Yarra.

I do not have any photos of the ship's company, but here is the Yarra Memorial site

Best Regards,
Mac. Gregory.
