Henry Vogwell was a stoker onboard HMS Edinburgh

Hi,

Great article on HMS Edinburgh. (see "The Golden Cruiser. HMS Edinburgh") I've been told be relatives that my Great Grandfather (or it could have been my Grandfathers brother - our family history is confusing to say the least) Henry Vogwell was a stoker onboard HMS Edinburgh when it was hit and went down. It's always interesting to find out what happened as the family details are sketchy.

He did survive and I'm now the proud owner of his medal collection.

My Grandfather was also in the Navy as a stoker and more recently my Brother has served, mainly on the type 42 Destroyer on HMS Exter.

Thanks again,

Martin Vogwell

Martin,

Thanks for your kind words, its always good to get some feedback.

AHOY is a joint effort, with my web master Terry Kearns in Atlanta Georgia, turning my research and scribbling into the site that is there for anyone on the internet to stumble upon, and hopefully find something of interest.

Best wishes from both the US and Australia.

Mac.
