HMAS Sydney name of a sailor

Greetings.

I have found your interesting web site and write to ask if you can help me please. I am doing some amateur genealogy for an elderly friend, who believes that a distant relative of hers, a man named H HALL, was a sailor on the HMAS Sydney during the 1940 period. I am not sure where to look, but I note you illustrate a photo of a wonderful marble memorial at Geraldton, and I wondered if his name was one of the men lost when the ship was sunk off the WA coast.

All this may seem a little vague but I'm afraid I do not have any other details. Is there a web site which lists the names of the sailors inscribed on that memorial?

I trust this enquiry is not an imposition and look forward to your courteous reply with interest.

Yours faithfully
Ray Kelly

Many thanks for your wealth of information. It is obvious I do not have sufficient data on this man, so I will endeavour to obtain, and hopefully will succeed for her.

I'm only a new chum on the net, but each new experience is a new bit of knowledge.

Once again, many thanks
Ray Kelly
