Frank William Tucker died aboard HMS Boadicea in 1944 aged only 19yrs June 14, 2009 Hello, My name is Gemma Barker, I am emailing you with regard to my grandad's brother Frank William Tucker who sadly died aboard HMS Boadicea in 1944 aged only 19yrs. Frank was not supposed to be on the Boadicea but he missed his intended ship and was re-detailed to serve on the Boadicea, which is why to us it makes the story much sadder. My grandad was only ten years old when Frank died & only has a picture of Frank when he joined the Navy. Do you know if any pictures were taken of the crew ? or where i could get copies of documents with regard to Frank & his very short service in the Navy, I am trying to get as much information about Frank and his service as possible to go on the family tree and to show my grandad before his dementia gets much worse. I would be grateful for any information you can give me Kind Regards
Here is Frank's Certificate of Remembrance from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Site.
His name is listed on the Portsmouth Naval memorial at Panel 84, Column 1
