Father served in HMS Lively (Destroyer)

Sir,

What a wonderful and interesting web site you have created. Have only just 'stumbled' across it, so still have many hours of interest ahead of me.

My father served in HMS Lively (Destroyer) in WW2 (Med) in Force K from Malta. His close friend was an Australian, Jock Simpson; they were in B gun: never been able to trace him. Have remembered many stories my father related to me, but Jock seemed to be quiet a character. It seems he worked as a drover in AU, and thus in B turret he wore an AU cowboy hat, and continually read Westerns!

He was the one who 'pressed' the firing button, and then said 'and another critter hits the dust' Last year, through the internet, I managed to receive a CD made by a seaman in the Lively, her battles, and eventual sinking.

Sorry to ramble on, Thanks.
