Eric M. Adams, Steward, HMAS Shropshire

20 June 201

Subject: HMAS Shropshire.

Thanks for the posting of the (Shropshire) crew photo taken in Lingayen Gulf, Northern Luzon, the Philippines in January 1945. I was not sure where or when the picture was taken so I searched on the internet and got the hit on your
photo. I have my Dad's photo, with caps on, and I posted it on my Facebook in honor of Father's Day here in the USA. My father was Eric M. Adams, a Steward. He passed away on February 20th 2000, aged 83.

Cheerio,
Russell Adams

HMAS Shropshire's crew, taken in Lingayen Gulf, Northern Luzon, the Philippines in January 1945.

I was given the task by the Executive Officer, Commander G.C. Oldham RAN DSC. to set up this photograph, his only other instruction "Only paint parts of the ship you can see!" Looking at the photo, I am sitting in the right hand chair in the second row.

Shropshire Crew, Jan 1945
