Edward John Wells (Ted), lost in Curacoa

Hello

I am John  and  Edward John Wells (Ted) was my late fathers Brother, I  was aware that Ted was lost ( I believe his body was never found) and Dad used to go to the Annual Dinner of the Curacoa Society until I beleive lack of numbers meant that the Society closed.

Just yesterday I was sorting through dads photogrpahs and in an album there is a photo of Ted on board  in what is marked last photo but is undated.

The picture is not particularly clear being quite small but I could scan it for you if any help.

Not sure if you are aware but mention is made on the Dover War memorial web page which I have personally notified them about.

It had transpired that the original Dover Town Rememberance book or Memorial was NOT complete, and Ted was one who was missing from the original, that has now been recognised.

I do have some pre Curacoa photos of him and also some my father took, (or had sent to him)of a 50th anniversary Wreath laying from HMS Nuurton again I can scan these if they are of interest.

On a  poignant note, Ted never saw his son Edward  Norris Wells who sadly himself died on Februuary 9th 1943 aged just 1 DAY.

If you have any  photos of Ted on the Curacoa I would be very pleased to receive a scan.

Thank you
John Wells

John,

Thank you for your E-Mail, I would like scans of Ted and the wreath laying thank you, we will add them to our Curocoa site.

I do not have any photos of Ted.

All the best for 2008.

Regards,
Mackenzie Gregory.
