Dinner bell from the RSM Athenia dated 1931

Hi my name is Gary I have a dinner bell from the RSM Athenia dated 1931 in which my wife's grandmother was on board .She apparently won it in a card game. My concern is if there would be any histicial value to it or monetary value. Could you help.

ThankYou.

Gary,

As Athenia was the first casualty of WW2, I would think you have a treasure there.

One way to test the market would be to take a photograph of your bell, then offer it for sale by putting the photo, and a description of the bell up on the E-Bay site. You can either ask for offers. or put a value on.

Alternatively, you write to an Auctioneer such as Sotheby's and ask them to value the bell.

Good luck,
Mac.
