D.N.Rafalovich, of Hr.Ms.de Ruyter, who survived as a POW and died December 1998

Dear Sir,Ref. USN Commander (ret) L.B.Dorny - please be informed that the U.S.Navy Officer on board of the Hr.Ms.de Ruyter was Lieutenenant O.F.Kolb, who died during the battle.

However, there was a 3rd American on this ship namely U.S.N.Signalman D.N.Rafalovich,who survived as a POW and died  December 1998.

Two Royal Navy men are mentioned in the Hr.Ms.de Ruyter book; Lieutenant Jackson and Signaller Williams.

Jack Penhollow lives now in Palm Desert California, USA.

Lieutenant O. F. Kolb is on my list at No. 910, Signalman Rafalovich at No. 1379, Lieutenant Jackson at No. 764, Signaller Williams is not listed, and Jack Penhollow was listed at No. 1313.

There is no record of TJIP BOENANDIR
