Athenia survivor, Jessie Graham from Glasgow

November 22, 2011

Just found your site and noticed that you don’t list as a survivor, my aunt, Jessie Graham from Glasgow.

I have a scrap book with newspaper clippings and several items from the ship – very interesting.

Thanks!

Dear Kiera,

I have never been able to find a complete list of Athenia survivors who were rescued by the British destroyers Escort, Electra and Fame and taken to Glasgow, so it is not surprising that your aunt Jessie Graham from Glasgow is not listed, but we will add her name to our lists.

I note that among those listed as injured and admitted to Western Infirmary Glasgow is an Angus Graham also from Glasgow, I wonder if he was Jessie's husband.

It would be helpful if you could scan your newspaper reports of this disaster and send them to me so that we can add them to our Athenia records.

My thanks for writing and best regards,

Mac.
