Alexander Brockie served in HM Submarine Sickle

June 14, 2009

Richard Blake was not the only survivor of the Sickle. My father, Alexander Brockie, served on her at this time. There was a minor explosion on board and he received some facial burns, resulting in him being hospitalised in Malta. The boat then went out on her final patrol. My father remained in the submarine service until he retired in 1964.

Sandra,

Thank you for that.

I am pleased that although burnt, your Father was able to miss the last voyage, and so survive.

I was reporting the sole survivor from Sickle's last and fatal journey.

Best regards,
Mac.
