Mac,

I'm very glad to see this at last. I imagine that's you on the right? Well done-the plaque and the mounting look
beautiful.

Meanwhile, Osprey Publishing is about to release my first destroyer book, which will be available next month via Amazon and other sources (see http://www.amazon.com/US-Destroyers-1934-45-Pre-war-Vanguard/dp/1846034434/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262037240&sr=8-2).

It covers the US Navy destroyers designed before World War II. On page 34 is that famous photo of Blue and
Patterson taking off Canberra's crew. I fear space did not permit much of a description of the battle (see page 30), but perhaps Father Thu Nguyen and others at the church would be interested to have something in print and know that there is more information on my web site, to which the book refers.

Are you well? You look great and I hope you're looking forward to a  fine new year,

Dave

Dave,

I had to rush back home from Sydney on Sunday December 13 so i could see an orthopedic surgeon the next day, I have
had a badly frozen left shoulder these past six months, and it has been agony.

He quickly diagnosed the problem as being caused by my diabetes, and providing Xrays did not find arthritis in my
shoulder said under a general anaethestic, he would manipulate the shoulder and I would have instant relief, he was as good as his word.

I have to wear a sling over the next 6 weeks and visit the Physiotherapist, am to have the surgeon review me this
afternoon.

Good luck with your book, I am about to self publish my book War in the Pacific 1941-1945. And So To Tokyo.

Again, my thanks for all your assistance in getting the Patterson plaque to fruition.

It does look quite beautiful

Best regards,
Mac.
